In addition to four Kentucky Derby breezes in the Bluegrass State on Saturday, another six workouts took place around the nation. Here's a recap in the order that the workouts occurred.

At Palm Meadows, Frosted and Upstart put in their final Kentucky Derby moves.

Going on his own, Frosted breezed five furlongs in 1:01.10 (2/5) under Rob Massey. Fractions were reported by David Grening to be 12.85, 24.92 and 36.74, out six furlongs in 1:14.53.

Upstart breezed in company under Vickie King, officially timed in 59.95 (1/5), and reportedly he was well in hand during the move. Upstart began the workout inside his workmate and was two lengths ahead at the finish line. According to Grening, his internal splits were 12.67, 24.46 and 48.01.

El Kabeir breezed four furlongs at Belmont Park and was timed in :46.81 (3/55)  following a first half-mile in 23.40. He probably went faster than intended after unexpectedly being joined during the move by another horse. El Kabeir moved off from the interloper and galloped out five furlongs in 59.00. Exercise rider Simon Harris was aboard, and Terranova said he was pleased by the work.

On a very cold morning at Arlington Park, Mubtaahij went out four days after a three-furlong breeze. He was the second of two Mike de Kock imports to work. Clockers at Arlington must have been taking a coffee break and missed the work. There is a chip embedded in Mubtaahij's saddle that is supposed to feed the information wirelessly to a computer network to which his stable has access. Once that information is revealed, the result will be posted at Road Work on the Home page.

Jeremey Balan of Bloodhorse.com was at Santa Anita this morning and observed Firing Line engage in a very easy work under Gary Stevens, five furlongs in 1:02.20. Balan said Firing Line galloped out six furlongs in 1:15. Stevens didn't ask Firing Line for anything special during the breeze. Firing Line worked on his own.

Last but not least, Dortmund breezed at Santa Anita. Balan tweeted that Bob Baffert's stopwatch got him going five furlongs in 1:01.00, and that he galloped out six furlongs in 1:14. Steve Andersen of DRF.com reported that it was a six furlong workout in 1:13.60. Dortmund worked in company with the unraced Lady Bull and was ridden by Martin Garcia. Baffert reportedly said, "Beautiful. He worked a little fast last time, so we were hoping he'd relax. He's getting very push-button."

Check back later today at Daily Derby Update for more information on these workouts and the other Kentucky Derby contenders.

On Sunday, American Pharoah is expected to breeze at Churchill Downs. Bold Conquest is expected Sunday or Monday. He needs two defections to make the Derby field.
