Cairo Prince and Conquest Titan, the one-two finishers in the Holy Bull Stakes -- and both sitting out today's Fountain of Youth Stakes -- worked Saturday at Palm Meadows.

Kiaran McLaughlin's Cairo Prince put in his second published workout since the Jan. 25 Holy Bull, going four furlongs in :49:90 (51/71), breezing. On Feb. 15, Cairo Prince breezed four furlongs in :48:75 (16/83).

Conquest Titan, whose trainer Mark Casse rode the fence for awhile before deciding against the Fountain of Youth or shipping out of town, was also timed for four furlongs, going in :48:30 (6/71), breezing. His most recent workout was two weeks prior when he breezed five furlongs in 1.00:00 (3/15).

McLaughin is on record saying he's training Cairo Prince up to the Florida Derby, and to expect workouts most every Saturday. "We may take one Saturday off, because there are a lot of Saturdays between now and March 29,” he said.

On Feb. 17, Casse said Conquest Titan had dropped some weight since the Holy Bull and was worked up during recent paddock schooling. Casse said he, too, is awaiting the Florida Derby with Conquest Titan.

Also on the Palm Meadows worktab was Rick Violette's Withers winner Samraat. who breezed a mile in 1.45:00 (1/1). At last word, Samraat had a number of next-race options, including the Florida Derby, Louisiana Derby or Wood Memorial.

"If he's kind of kicking the walls down he can certainly come back for the Gotham," Violette said after winning the Withers at Aqueduct on Feb. 1. The Gotham is March 1.

Cousin Stephen and Matador, third and fourth in the Sam F. Davis Stakes, also worked at the training facility Saturday. Matador went a bullet five furlongs  in 1.00:00 (1/18), breezing, for Casse.Cousin Stephen was timed at the same distance in 1.01:25 (3/18), breezing, for trainer Chad Brown.

Cousin Stephen is considered possible for the Gotham, while Matador is presumptively looking for a return to Tampa in the Tampa Bay Derby on March 8.
