Top Billing headlines 54 horses nominated to the Fountain of Youth Stakes. Entries for the race will be taken next Monday.

Shug McGaughey will try for his second straight Fountain of Youth score after saddling Orb last year.

The McGaughey-trained Honor Code was not nominated to the Fountain of Youth due to a setback in his training schedule last month caused by ankle bruising. Cairo Prince, winner of the Holy Bull Stakes, also wasn't nominated by trainer Kiaran McLaughlin.

Commissioner, who got the best of Top Billing in a 1 1/8-mile allowance early last month, heads a group of 16 nominated by Todd Pletcher and is considered definite for the race.

Others nominated by Pletcher include: Intense Holiday, third in the Holy Bull; Havana, the Champagne winner and Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1) runner-up; and We Miss Artie, the Dixiana Breeders’ Futurity winner and Kitten’s Joy runner-up.

Conquest Titan, second in the Holy Bull,  is expected to run in the Fountain of Youth, as well as Gulfstream Park Derby winner General a Rod.

Wildcat Red, the Hutcheson Stakes winner, was also nominated as expected by trainer Jose Garoffalo.

The Fountain of Youth will anchor a Feb. 22 program that will also include the $200,000 Davona Dale for 3-year-old fillies and the $150,000 Canadian Turf.
