It looks like the field will be led by Mark Valeski, second by a nose in the Grade II Risen Star Stakes.
Finnegans Wake, third behind Hansen in the Grade III Gotham, is being considered, according to Fair Grounds stakes coordinator Scott Jones.
Trainer Jerry Hollendorfer is expected to send at least one from a quartet under consideration. Rousing Sermon was fifth in the Grade II San Felipe last time out; Russian Greek was fifth in the Grade III El Camino Real Derby; and Nonios has been a winner by a total of 8 1/4 lengths in two career races. Longview Drive, a dead-heater for sixth in the Grade III Southwest Stakes is going to the Grade III Sunland Derby, according to Sunland Park.
Cigar Street, who broke his maiden by 13 3/4 lengths at Fair Grounds on March 10, is possible, as is Comisky’s Humor, a Ron Faucheux-trained colt by Sharp Humor who has won his last two starts by a total of 18 lengths.
Also possible is Arm Force, a son of Tiznow trained by Eoin Harty who broke his maiden by 3 3/4 lengths at Gulfstream Park on Feb. 26; and Hero of Order, a Gennadi Dorochenko trainee that was fourth in the Risen Star and more recently runner-up in the $75,000 Black Gold Stakes on the Fair Grounds turf course.
