Holy Bull Draws Nine
Entries closed today for Sunday's Grade III Holy Bull and its new purse of $400,000. More....

One from Our Lists at Oaklawn
Parent's Honor (Worth Watching) is entered in a 1 1/16-mile entry-level allowance at Oaklawn Park on Saturday. It's race 7 on the card with a post time of 5:03 ET. Parent's Honor is trained by Tony Dutrow, who also has J W Blue in the race.

The Factor Back on Track?
The Factor (Looking Good), the Bob Baffert trainee that broke his maiden setting a Santa Anita record of 1:06.98 for six furlongs, likely will make his next start in the Grade II San Vicente Stakes going seven furlongs. The San Vicente is on Feb. 20.

Since that race on Dec. 26 and a recorded workout on Jan. 9, The Factor has been away from the worktab. Baffert said the son of War Front is healthy and has been galloping. “He didn’t need a breeze,” the trainer said somewhat cryptically. When asked around the first of the year how The Factor was doing after that fast race, Baffert said they were still cleaning the bugs off his teeth.

GP Quarantine Lifted
Gulfstream Park announced this afternoon a quarantine had been lifted to one barn at the track and four others at Palm Meadows.

An unidentified horse from the barn of trainer Jonathan Sheppard showed symptoms of possible neurological problems yesterday, prompting the quarantine. But a blood sample and nasal swab tested negative Thursday for EHV-1.

“We took swift action to test the samples in the interest of the horses,” said Gulfstream President and GM Steve Calabro. “We’re glad the test came back negative and the quarantine was lifted.”

Three Set for Sprints
Concealed Identity (Just In Case) is entered in the six-furlong Dancing Count Stakes at Laurel on Saturday. It's race 8 with a post time of 3:53 ET. Eight are entered, but Concealed Identity will probably be a very strong favorite at post time.

Crossbow (Worth Watching) and Sovereign Default (Worth Watching) are entered in a seven-furlong entry-level allowance at Gulfstream Park on Saturday. It's race 5 with a post time of 2:45 ET. Seven are entered. Chateau D' Kim is also one to watch from the Eddie Plesa barn. This is a strong allowance race.

We Found Out What's Up with Mucho Macho Man
Being pointed to Sunday's Grade III Holy Bull with a Jan. 23 workout at Gulfstream Park, a breeze popped up for him two days later on the worktab at Parx Racing. It was recorded for a 3-year-old named Mucho Macho Man (Worth Watching), and if you click the link for the horse at the Equibase Jan. 25 worktab page at Parx, it's the same horse, not some other horse with the same name. So we posted the work but for assumed that a mistake was made.

Roxy Roxborough emailed us after we posted about this mystery work, and here's what he has to say: "Mucho Macho Man has his own Facebook page, and it says, 'This Sunday's race at the Holy Bull is going to be my debut as a three year old. I've done my prep work and now I'm resting....'" Roxy said it's best to "get it from the horse's mouth."

Leave of Absence to Holy Bull, Rescind the Trade to New York
Rick Violette has decided to put Leave of Absence (Worth Watching) in the Holy Bull and has shipped Rescind the Trade (Worth Watching) to New York for the Whirlaway, telling DRF.com that the latter horse was getting too hot in Florida. The van trip began yesterday, and there's no word on whether they got bogged down in a snowstorm.
