Positive youth development programs empower children to develop academic, social, interpersonal communication, physical, vocational and leadership skills through age-appropriate activities offered in safe, familiar neighborhood settings outside of school time.
George Washington Beacon School offers youth and community members in the Northeast Philadelphia a range of after-school and drop-in programs, including homework help, artistic and recreational activities, leadership development training, career exploration programs, academic and vocational skills-building, ESL classes, and community action projects. Licensed Programs
Too-Can After and Before School programs operate in seven Philadelphia elementary schools in the Olney, Feltonville and Northeast Philadelphia neighborhoods: Lowell, Finletter, Clara Barton, Creighton, McClure and Mayfair. Programs provide a safe, caring, adult-supervised, after-school environment. Children participate in arts and crafts, songs and musical skits, indoor and outdoor games, science and nature activities, hobby and talent activities, and receive assistance with homework assignments.
