Children’s Theatre Auditions

The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department’s award winning children’s theatre group, the Star
Bright Players, announce auditions for their spring production of “My Fair Lady.”  Open auditions for children ages 8 to 15 will be held Sunday, February 21 at the Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Road.  Auditions for children new to the
Star Bright program will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., and auditions for children returning to the program will be from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Children may arrive at any time during these periods, but may be required to wait.  Parents may accompany their
child in the waiting room, but will not be allowed to observe the actual audition process.

No experience is necessary.  The director is looking for children who are vocal and expressive.  Children will need to be able to sing a song and may bring sheet music or a CD to sing along with.  If preparing a selection, please choose something in the Musical Theatre genre.  Popular Pop, Country or Contemporary Christian music does not give the director a true picture of the singer’s technique or ability to handle the demands of a musical theatre production.  An eight week rehearsal schedule is set with performances taking place April 22-25.
