A distinctive thoroughfare

that runs through the

middle of  the primary

landmark venues in art,

entertainment & sports

in downtown Nashville.

"Avenue of the Arts" is literally written in stone of the side of the Gaylord Arena at Broadway and Fifth. The Fifth Avenue corridor counts some 15-20 art destinations either directly on the avenue itself, or within a four-block area to the east and west--especially on the cross streets of Broadway, Demonbreun, Commerce, Church, Deaderick, and Charlotte.

In the next two to three years, an additional 4,000 residents are moving to this center of town, attracting grocery stores, hotels, more galleries, restaurants, high rise buildings, new loft spaces, and other kinds of  business enterprise to the area--headquarters for CMT (Country Music Television) and  NISSAN, for example.

It’s uncanny what’s happened around us over the 10 years we have had a gallery business in the middle of all this activity.  Residents and visitors from around the world have come to know downtown Nashville as a flourishing urban destination, where many avenues invite people to walk, linger, look, shop, and visit a wide range of distinctive venues.

Recently-opened venues include:  the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Frist Center for the Visual Arts, the Main Public Library, the LP (NFL-Titans) Coliseum, the Musica sculpture, the Shelby Street walking bridge, the Fifth Avenue Arts Park, the Schermerhorn Symphony Center—flanked by the newly completed Gateway Bridge—and the Public Square Park in front of the renovated deco Courthouse.

Legendary venues in the same area include the Ryman Auditorium, the Station Inn, Tootsie’s on Broadway, TPAC (Tennessee Performing Arts Center) and the Tennessee State Museum and Hatch Show Print, among others.

Fifth Avenue of the Arts
continues to evolve, providing an enormous sense of energy and excitement to The Arts Company and neighboring venues, inspiring innovative, world-class programming in arts, entertainment and sports.
