A seven week therapeutic day camp for children and young adults with physical or developmental disabilities who want a specialized setting offering recreation, music, art and dance therapies.

6-23 year old residents of Williamson County with physical or
developmental disabilities

When?
June 1-July 16
Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 3:00pm
*There will be NO camp held on Monday, July 5*
Parents may register campers for up to five weeks of camp (Or until full)!

Registration will be held at the Franklin Recreation Complex

Tuesday, April 27 from 7:00am to 6:00pm
and
Thursday, April 29 from 9:00am to 1:00pm

Please note: 
Campers must be registered by a parent or legal guardian.
Campers do not need to attend registration.
Campers must be residents of Williamson County.

Williamson County Parks and Recreation offers monthly social programs for children, teens and adults with physical and developmental disabilities.


Fitness Fun
Need a smart start for healthy heart?  Then join Fitness Fun.  You will have fun while getting the exercise your body needs.  We will participate in activities geared towards improving cardiovascular abilities, increasing flexibility, and strengthening muscles.  This weekly program is designed for individuals who are independent with their personal care and can follow directions within a small group.

Bowling
Weekly bowling continues so come bowl with us. Meet at the Franklin Entertainment Center, 1200 Lakeview Drive in Franklin each Tuesday and knock down some pins with your friends.  Due to staffing one to one assistance is not available for this activity. 
Please note:  Bowling will be canceled if Williamson County Schools are closed.

Potluck and Bingo
Join us for an evening of fun, food and bingo!  Meat, drinks and bingo prizes will be provided, just bring a side dish or dessert to share.
PALS program: People at Leisure with Support - a caregiver is required to stay with those needing support. Caregivers are asked to register if planning to attend and eat.  Do to the limited number of winners, Bingo prizes are awarded only to the participants.

Recreation Night-Garden in a Bucket
April is National Gardening Month! Join your friends for a night of gardening and crafts making your own "Garden in a Bucket". Let your creative juices flow decorating buckets for the flowers you will be planting. No experience necessary. Afterwards, we will enjoy a taco bar dinner. Participants will enjoy creating their own hard, or soft tacos, taco salad, drinks and dessert are also provided. Don't miss this fun evening!

Join your friends for a fun evening of participating in active relay races and games that are sure to give you an appetite.  After playing you will enjoy a dinner of hotdogs, hamburgers, chips, drinks, and dessert.

Franklin Spring Fling and Dance
Chase away the winter blues and fling in to Spring with us at our annual Spring dance. Enjoy an exciting evening of good food, good company, and good times. Music will be provided by DJ Louis Lee. Dinner will include sub sandwiches, chips, salad, drinks and dessert.

Super Saturday Respite
Come join us in games, music, swimming, crafts and more.  You will need your swimsuit, towel, lunch and drink for a day full of fun!  Personal care is provided for those with special needs only.  Because swimming is our first activity, please send your child dressed to swim.

Please note:  New Respite Registration Policy!  Registration begins at 9:00am on the first day of registration.  All registration will be done within the Therapeutic Division and not the front desk.

How to register for Respite:
1.  You may walk-in at the Respite site the first day of registration.  After the first day no walk-in registrations are taken.
2.  You may call Jayne McFadden at (615)790-5719 ext. 33 for the Franklin Complex Respite.  You may call Mary Clark at (615)302-0971 ext. 18 for the Longview Recreation Center Respite.  You must speak with a therapist to register.  Leaving a message is not registering.

Payment must be received within 5 days of registration or you will be moved to the waiting list.

Policies and Procedures

Inclement Weather Policy
Please call (615) 790-5719 ext. 33 for Franklin based programs or (615) 302-0971 ext.18 for Spring Hill based programs the day of the event for cancellation information.  For inclement weather updates on facility closures or class cancellations, please call the department's Inclement Weather Hotline at (615) 591-8524. Planned outdoor activities will be moved inside if there is bad weather. 

Registration Policy
Registration must be by the deadline and payment must be received within five days of registering.  You must speak to a receptionist to make a reservation.  For phone reservations, please call (615) 790-5719 ext. 10 for Franklin based programs or (615) 302-0971 ext. 10 for Spring Hill based programs.   

Payments can be:
  1. In person-just stop by the front desk druing regular business hours.
  2. Phone in with credit card(total must be $20.00 or more and will include a small processing fee).

Program Cancellation Policy
Refunds can be requested up to 24 hours before the program. After that point, most programs are non-refundable unless your spot can be filled by someone off the waiting list. Please remember to call (615) 790-5719 ext. 33 for Franklin based programs or (615) 302-0971 ext. 18 for Spring Hill based programs to cancel.
