Caring Resources

Sheryl Cook and Farrar Moore have been providing “Help! Am I the Parent Now?” seminars in local churches and senior facilities in the Middle Tennessee area since 1997. Statistics such as, “by the year 2040, twelve million people will be unable to live without caregivers in their life, and an additional forty-two million will be dependent upon assistance,” reveal the critical need for caregiver education and support.

Farrar and Sheryl both have family caregiving experience. They have provided end-of-life support and care for grandparents and parents. Farrar Moore and Sheryl Cook have also been providing HOPE Workshops through the YMCA and local churches in the Middle Tennessee area since 1999. This biblically-based workshop guides participants in a process that helps them eliminate the sense of hopelessness and inability to move on with their lives due to any unforgiveness and bitterness that robs them of peace and joy.

Farrar and Sheryl are both gifted Certified Grief Recovery Counselors.

Bruce

My dad told me once in an off-handed way that I just must be a lucky guy. That with all the twists, turns, and confusion, things just seemed to work out for me. And actually, as it turns out, he was right. Career-wise it showed up in that after no less than 6 different career transitions, my occupational destiny found me. And now, as full-time practicing psychologist and director of The Counseling Center at Christ Community Church in Franklin, Tennessee, I get to be engaged in the courageous healing and sacred transformation of the hundreds of clients I care about.

Additionally, I get to join the professional and personal fulfillment of my graduate students as adjunct professor at Trevecca Nazarene University, where I teach master and doctoral level courses in Ethics and Professional Standards. But by far, my best fortunes have come within the ‘rapture and rupture’ of 26-years of marriage to my irresistible wife Debbie (on whose ring I inscribed and intend “all my love for life”), and through out the over 20 years of rollicking and wrestling with the three best sons on the planet: Bub, Kev and Chris. I really do lead the blessed and charmed Scottish-Irish life of love for God and family (…and Tennessee football)!

Though still battling cancer, she has set out into the mission fields of Nicaragua, Israel, India, Nepal and her favorite… Africa. ”Have cancer will travel” is her motto! Her next challenge is to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. “We are given the opportunity to conquer and overcome our circumstances, not ‘white knuckle’ our survival. You cannot be a conqueror without something to conquer.”
