Bo Culpepper was born in Norfolk VA in 1969. He grew up in Norfolk and Virginia Beach as well as Charlotte NC. After getting his BS in business administration at The University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill, like a good son should, he began pursuing his love of art. He first got his Bachelor of Fine Art in painting at East Carolina University in 1994 and then continued there to receive his MFA.
Bo lived and taught in Seattle for several years before ending up in New York where he now works at MoMA as preparator for the photography department.
Culpepper has shown his work at many galleries along the way in Seattle and New York. We first spotted his work at Kerrigan-Campbell Art and Projects in the East Village. He also has work at Matzo Files and has recently been accepted into the Slide Registry at The Drawing Center.
TAG is excited to expose his exceptional work to a new and Southern audience.
