What we did: built, landscaped, took photographs, and brought lunch to our volunteers.
Over the past several months, much has been happening with Habitat’s new development on Wood Street, Park View Place. All the lots have been cleared, two houses have been completed and landscaped, and four more are being built even now. In October, Northminster had a unique opportunity to help with this project.
Several of the houses in Park View Place are being built through the use of New Market Tax Credits and funds secured through the Jimmy and Rosalyn Carter Work Project. Of course, this means that these houses do not have covenant sponsors— and therefore, ready volunteer groups—– associated with them. Habitat is looking for volunteers to help build these four houses in Park View Place.
In addition to this important work, the Planting Peace project is moving forward on its goal of landscaping each house in Park View Place.
