These are the people who help to get it done! Without these dear co-workers there wouldn’t be an On The HomeStretch. I love them all and want you to get to know them too. Together we’re havin’ such a good time it almost doesn’t feel like work!

As a lifetime resident of Middle Tennessee, I’ve spent all but two of my 25 years here; it’s a wonderful area and I don’t foresee ever leaving this place. My husband and I met in 2000 and I was hooked from the moment I saw him. We married in 2005 and he’s still my very best friend. We have no kids yet…just Otis the cat!

I am the first of three kids to be born to my wonderful parents. I’m your typical first born child—addicted to order and a stickler for the rules. Next in line is my quiet but very caring brother, then my precious baby sister whose audacity has brought her to reside in Australia.

While in college, I worked two jobs. I had a small house cleaning business and worked with a special events planner and florist. After graduating from Middle Tennessee State University with a degree in Organizational Communications my work in the wedding and special events field continued until my days here at “On The HomeStretch”. I still enjoy arranging flowers and work many weekends on weddings—I love it!

On The HomeStretch was introduced to me back in 2005 when it was still in the dreaming and planning stages; right away I was eager to be a part of the team. While I may not be on my own ‘HomeStretch’ yet, I love having the opportunity to help connect women, provide encouragement and then to learn so much along the way. It’s an adventurous ride that I’m thrilled to be on each and every day.

As a mother of five, the reality side of me is spent preparing for and cleaning up from events...mostly small events like dinner, laundry, carpool, and sporting events. The soul side of me has a deep and abiding love for all visual arts, including cinematography, graphic design and photography. If we really had more than one go-around at life, I would get a degree in architecture and design really cool buildings. In addition to loving the arts, the written word moves my soul in a way I've never been able to fully explain, even to myself. My passion for exploring the way writers structure sentences by choosing this word or that phrase leans nearly into a pathological illness. Much of my Montana childhood was spent with a bowl of freshly-picked apples and a book - snuggled up beside Bessie, the family milk cow. We would lay in the pasture together for hours during my young life, the rhythm of her chewing a comforting background to all the places I was visiting in my imagination. Being on the staff of On the HomeStretch taps into many of these passions - the written word, love of the arts and an engaging love of people. Meeting women who have chosen to do fascinating things with their lives...well, now that is a dreamy job. Sometimes I get to photograph them and sometimes I get to write about them...a double dose of soul medicine. Maybe someday I'll get to design that really cool building.

As empty nesters, my husband, Joel, our faithful twelve-year-old mutt, Rascal and I embarked on a new adventure this past year. We moved from our home of 13 years in Brentwood, TN to Glastonbury, CT to accommodate a new position with his company.

Joel and I have been “finding our way together” since the week we both turned fifteen. Not prone to making rash decisions, we dated for 8 1/2 years through high school and college before getting married. We have been blessed with two wonderful daughters. Our creative, older daughter, Jessica, remains in the South and has embarked on her interior design career in Atlanta. Steph, our adventurer, is in her final year of classes at The King’s College, whose campus is in the Empire State Building.

I spent many years as a stay-at-home mom, wrapped up in our girls’ numerous activities and volunteering wherever needed. As the girls reached high school, I went back to work and was surrounded by the bustling activity in membership services at the Brentwood Family YMCA. For 13 years, I enjoyed the camaraderie of my women’s tennis team, friends from our many activities and wonderful neighborhood, fellowship at the same church and a very busy lifestyle. But now I find myself 1000 miles away from all those friends, familiar faces and comfortable places.

While my life looks different these days it is exciting, too. I love what is happening with On The HomeStretch and how it reaches out to women everywhere with a message of hope and enlightening lessons on making the second half of your life even better than the first. I see this move as an opportunity to forge new relationships in my life and am excited to be able to promote On The HomeStretch Internet radio in the beautiful Northeast.

Born and raised in Huntsville, Alabama, I attended David Lipscomb College (now Lipscomb University).   That gives you a pretty good idea of my age!   I married my wonderful husband of 23 years right out of college and entered into the world of banking.   We lived in a tiny upstairs apartment that also housed the “roach family.”  Needless to say, our move to a condo was welcomed.  Life was simple and exciting.  We had opportunities to travel and enjoyed every minute of it!

Our first daughter arrived on our four-year wedding anniversary.  I became a stay-at-home mom and quickly fell in love with it!  Daughter number two arrived about three years later and quickly become a middle child at 20 months after the birth of our son.  They are now in college and high school.  It won’t be long before our nest will be empty and that realization is a bit scary.

Ten years ago when our youngest child was in kindergarten I decided to join the staff at the preschool that my children attended.  It’s a sweet little school that has captured my heart.

Becoming a part of ‘On the HomeStretch’ has been like a dream…and I don’t want to wake up!  I enjoy working on the computer and discovering new technologies that are out there waiting to be grabbed and put into motion.  I enjoy the thrill each accomplishment brings, no matter how big or small.  I’m loving each day and looking forward to tomorrow!
