John Furlong, Essex. Exceptional British 20-bore double flintlock sporting gun, ca. 1825. Superb 30” Damascus barrels with stepped-in breeches, platinum touch-hole liners, and excellent bores. Peerless quality locks with beautiful upswept pans similar to those found on most Smith guns from the same era. Nicely engraved throughout with highly figured walnut stock. Cased in period case not original to the gun. Overall mechanically absolutely perfect with incredibly fast ignition the equal of any late flint era gun by any of the great British maker’s.
