John Rigby, London. Exceptional .450 caliber, long-range, match  rifle, #12428, originally sold to the “National Rifle Association” (of Great Britain) in 1865 for 20 pounds sterling. Superb 36” Obermeyer competition barrel, original tang sight numbered to the gun, and many accessories in a small, highly figured, sheepskin lined, compartmented oak case. Not shown are a brass loading/cleaning rod with collar that fits over the false muzzle to stabilize the rod, and a beautiful brass funnel with a long tube allowing the powder charge to be introduced directly into the chamber. This is the absolute ultimate 1000 yard muzzle-loading competition target rifle!
