Henry Tatham, London.  Best 14-bore percussion double gun, #5067, ca. 1840.  Weight: 6 lbs. 6 oz.  Stock Dimensions:  14 5/8”x 1 ½”x 2”x ¼” cast-off.  Superb 29 ½” damascus barrels, with mint bores (.697”/.697”) and minimum wall thickness of .034”/.038”, retain 98 % of the original rich brown finish. Breeches retain much of the original hardening colors showing no corrosion in the nipple recesses and nipples show little evidence of use. Peerless quality locks with brilliant internals retain much of the original fading case color and are, mechanically, as crisp as the day they were made. 50% of the original brilliant black finish remains on the game scene engraved trigger guard bow. Most of the original black remains on the butt plate tang with none remaining on the butt. Beautifully figured stock retains virtually all the original finish and checkering is sharp as if cut yesterday. Ramrod is original. Overall an absolutely beautiful gun of  best London quality in every detail and remaining in near mint original condition throughout . Hard to find in this condition today.
