TAP'S TOWN MEETING ON TENNCARE DRAWS SRO CROWD
![]() TAP's Town Meeting drew a standing-room only crowd of 250 people at St. Ann's Episcopal Church on May 3rd. The diverse group included people in wheelchairs, a large contingency from the disabled community who came dressed in matching green t-shirts and sat right in front of the speakers' table, activists and advocates from many organizations that deal with populations targeted for disenrollment, and concerned citizens.

The panelists, Rep. Joey Hensley M.D. (R-Hohenwald), Michael Drescher from the Bureau of TennCare, and Gordon Bonnyman from the Tennessee Justice Center were asked a series of questions about the ramifications of the TennCare plan that Governor Bredesen has proposed. Then the audience was invited to ask Q&A of the panel. Many provocative and interesting questions were asked and a lively interchange took place between the audience and the panelists with TAP Moderator Rev. Michael Waldrop facilitating.
