The Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation made PARC a part of their team in 1995 when PARC developed a business plan and feasibility for the Tribes’ solid waste program. PARC also completed a feasibility and business plan for the Mission Market, conducted an Ambulance Feasibility Study and completed a housing needs assessment for the Tribes. Today the Tribes have several state-of-the-art facilities, which include the Mission Market, the Tribal Ambulance Services, new housing projects, and a waste handling facility known as TERF, or Tribal Environmental Recovery Facility. “You would think that working for an Indian Reservation would be difficult, for we have different cultures, traditions, and beliefs. Not for PARC. They built a great friendship with the Umatilla Tribe and took it upon themselves to learn our humor, and the ways of our Tribal Government. I am very pleased to have worked with all PARC staff and would highly recommend them to anyone.” —Bonnie Burke, TERF Operations Manager |
