My work is a pop-graphic look into the world of suburbia, and attempts to come to terms with the subtle issues lurking just under the surface, loneliness, fear, death, addiction, love and confusion; Things which stay thinly concealed under the mechanisms of daily life. I’m interested in the human element of the machine that we all seem to form a part of, the emotions, the ideas, and beliefs that motivate and retard the individual in a social structure. I could suggest that these paintings are the groundwork for a suburban mythology, contradictory and abysmal, that has tendrils of inadequate explanation going deep into the essence of every thing that makes up this stucco existence. Going so far as to hint at Gods, demi-Gods, and the mortals they manipulate in their quests for earthly pleasures. This stylized mythology, like any, looks to explain what little it can in the seemingly intangible mess of suburban life from what little can be observed.
