MONDAY, JULY 10

­1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Registration (Bimby Bowl, within Lupton Hall)
Please park on the circle outside Lupton Hall or in the parking lot between Hearst Hall and Goodman Hall if the circle is full.

3:00 - 5:00 p.m.
•Youth Gathering
(Talmage Room within Emerson Student Center)
All youth are invited to gather for a time of food, music and fun to get the week started right!
•Intergenerational Games for Children and Former Children (Traer Quad)
"Children" of all ages are warmly welcomed for a time of fun and fellowship. Parents are also welcome to drop off their children (age 3 through 5th grade) and use the time to unpack and unwind.

6:30 - 8:45 p.m. Welcoming Plenary (Lupton Auditorium, within Lupton Hall)
The welcoming plenary will include music, the presentation of the Bill Moore Lifetime in Peacemaking Award to US Representative Barbara Lee, story-telling from George Williamson (Martin & Me - Confessions of a Born-Again Whiteboy: Born in Sin), and C. T. Vivian's keynote address, Becoming the Beloved Community: How Do We Live King's Vision Now?"

Please note that Lupton Hall is NOT easily accessible. If you have difficulty with stairs, please speak with a member fo the BPFNA staff to get instructions for accessing the auditorium.

During worship:
•Child care for children age 4 & under is provided starting at 6:25 p.m.
•Children's programming for children rising into kindergarten through 5th grade is provided in Traer Hall starting at 6:25 p.m. Please drop off your children and pick them up in Traer Hall's first floor lounge.
Please show kindness to those working with our children by picking up your children immediately after the close worship.

Meetings will take place in or near the auditorium.

Meet and greet your fellow peace campers and enjoy food provided by Oakhurst Baptist Church and musical entertainment provided by El Grupo Café Mezclao.

TUESDAY, JULY 11  

7:00 - 7:30 a.m. Morning Daily Breath Meditation with John Malcomson
(Singers Room, within Emerson Student Center)
Morning meditation has become popular over the last two Peace Camps, as participants have appreciated a time to come together and learn to be more present while taking care of themselves and providing a peaceful foundation for each day of the conference.  The practice is paying attention to our breath and is neither Christian nor Buddhist, or is it both? Here is your opportunity to make Contemplation balanced with Action a vital component of Peace Camp!

7:30 - 8:30 a.m. Breakfast (Dining Hall)
First-Timers Breakfast — First-time conference attendees and others wanting to know more about the BPFNA are invited to join with LeDayne McLeese Polaski and other BPFNA leaders at 7:30 a.m. in the dining hall. Over breakfast, we'll take questions about the conference, the organization, our history, and anything else that you care to discuss! Look for LeDayne and a sign in the dining hall and join us!

8:45 a.m. - 12:00 Noon Morning Session
(Lupton Auditorium, within Lupton Hall)
The morning session will include music, as well as Theatrical Dialogue with Rabbi Lynn Gottlieb (A Woman Rabbi Gazes into the Mirror of American Racism) and the first of Peter Paris's presentations, Christian Responses to Violence in All Its Varying Forms. This and all of the Peter's presentations will include a time for questions and answers.

Child are for children age 2 & under will be available starting at 8:40 a.m. Older children and youth should come to the plenary session, where they will join in morning music before being dismissed to their own programs.


12:15 - 1:15 p.m. Lunch (Dining Hall)

Afternoon options in the Sweet Auburn area near Ebenezer Baptist Church will begin at 2:30 p.m. You have a variety of choices for transportation:
•You may wish to carpool or drive your own car. Plan on 45 minutes of drive time. Directions are in your conference packet.
•You may wish to take MARTA, Atlanta's public rail system. Plan on up to 70 minutes of travel time. Directions are in your conference packet.
•Shuttles will depart from the circle in front of the dining hall at 1:45 p.m.

2:30 - 4:00 p.m. Afternoon Options
King and the Theology of Nonviolence
King Center ­seminar/tour led by Bob Hunter. Advance registration required, limited to 25.

Tour of the New Sanctuary of Ebenezer Baptist Church
Led by church member Shirley Barnhardt; no registration required. This magnificent sanctuary is a must-see, and your appreciate of the space will be enhanced greatly by the tour. Every detail of the space has meaning — from the overall design, meant to represent an African hut, to the selection and placement of each individual cross. See it through the loving eyes of someone who saw it come to life.
Tour of the Boyhood Home of Martin Luther King, Jr.
This family-friendly option is open to all! Advanced registration is required.

4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Dinner On Your Own
A listing of some nearby options and walking/driving directions is included in your conference packet.

If you need a place to change into your church clothes for evening worship, you are welcome to change at Ebenezer Baptist Church. Women should use the Bridal Room, and men should use the restroom. Please DO NOT leave any articles in these rooms.

6:00 - 8:15 p.m. Worship at Ebenezer Baptist Church
Worship this evening will include music led by the choir of First Iconium Baptist Church, story-telling with George Williamson (Martin & Men, Confessions of a Born-Again Whiteboy: Born Again), the presentation of the Bill Moore Lifetime in Peacemaking Award to Rev. Dr. J. Alfred Smith, Sr., and preaching by Dr. Smith.

During worship:
•Child care is being provided in the Educational Building Nursery (across the street from the Horizon Sanctuary) for children age 4 & under.
•Children's programming is being provided in the Educational Building, Rooms 114 & 103 (also across the street from the Horizon Sanctuary), for children rising into kindergarten through 5th grade.
Please drop off your children starting at 5:55 p.m. and pick them up immediately after the conclusion of the service.

Shuttles back to the Oglethorpe University campus will depart at 8:30 p.m.

9:30 - 10:00 p.m. Evening Compline with Joy Bergfalk
Compline will be a time of community prayer using the ancient practice of the Daily Examen, a practice in which the day is reflected upon to find where there has been a sense of God's presence and where there seemed to be a distance from God. This practice is often the basis of discernment, a spiritual and holistic means of decision-making.

Please notice Silent Auction items on display and available for bidding all day today. Items have been donated by their creators, and all proceeds benefit the BPFNA. Bidding will conclude at 9:00 p.m. tonight.

Lunch Bunch Meeting, convened by Barb Taft — Women Challenge US Policy: Building Peace on Justice in the Middle East, open to all interested men and women! Grab your lunch, look for Barbara and a sign in the dining hall, and gather to meet and eat.

1:30 - 3:00 p.m. Hurricane Katrina Roundtable (Conference Room D, within Emerson Student Center)
Hurricane Katrina laid bare the enormous inequalities yet remaining in the United States, exposing again the triple evils of poverty, racial injustice and militarism identified by Martin Luther King, Jr., four decades ago. Join us for a discussion addressing:
-What happened and why?
-What is happening now?
-Where do we go from here, as we attempt to be the beloved community with those most affected by the storm?
We will begin with the presentation of the Bill Moore Lifetime in Peacemaking Award to Dr. C. T. Vivian, whose "Churches Supporting Churches" program, created in response to the disaster, is one of the many examples of his lifetime commitment to peacemaking.


5:15 - 6:15 p.m. Dinner (Dining Hall)

6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Evening Plenary (Lupton Auditorium) 
Worship this evening will include music led by the Oakhurst Baptist Church Choir, story-telling with George Williamson (Martin & Me, Confessions of a Born-Again Whiteboy: Dr. King in Iraq), and preaching from Rev. Dr. J. Alfred Smith, Sr.

During Worship:
•Child care is provided starting at 6:25 p.m. for children age 4 & under.
•Children's programming for children rising into kindergarten through 5th grade is provided starting at 6:25 p.m. in Traer Hall. Please drop off your children and pick them up in Traer Hall's first floor lounge.

Following worship, you are invited to our annual Silent Auction & Craft Fair on the Lupton Auditorium stage. The sale and bids for the silent auction will close at 9:00 p.m.

3:45 - until The Judas Testament: A Manuscript Reading with George Williamson (Conference Room D, within Emerson Student Center)
George Williamson will give a reading from his new novel. George has turned to fiction as a medium for the themes of religious evil and the breakthrough of God that he has explored in lectures, sermons and workshops at many of our Peac eCamps. The central characters are Mary Magdalene and Judas. The central tension is between the old story—our old story—and the church that has already corrupted it. George will read three chapters and engage in a discussion.
