Magnificent San Francisco Gold Rush Era Pocket Watch and Chain, ca. 1896. The watch is a 17-Jewel Elgin National Watch Co. with 18k Hunter Case, Eagle poincon, BWCO, marked 18k in shield. Tight hinges with excellent clasp on dust cover. Multiple gold-included quartz and Onyx inlays, (typical of the West coastal USA from California to Alaska), meticulously inlaid within very delicate gold partitions, adorn the front of the case. All numbers match on the case #189808.

The unique, hand made, chain is comprised of 13 exquisite hand engraved and hand soldered links ending in a beautiful, hinged-lid, gold locket with multi-colored gold decoration and a large piece of gold-included Quartz inlaid in the lid. Chain tests 14k.

Overall an absolutely unique piece of Gold Rush Era art  in virtually mint condition throughout.
