Durs Egg, London.  Magnificent 7-bore flintlock waterfowl gun, #684, with superb barrel by William Fullard, ca. 1810. Weight: 12 ½ Lbs.  Overall Length: 64”.  Spectacular 46” Damascus barrel by that greatest of all large-bore barrel maker’s, William Fullard, has a virtually mint bore and retains most of the old rebrown finish. The stepped-in barrel breech and lock retain much of the original hardening colors. Original figured stock is in fine condition with crisp, unretouched, checkering and the ramrod appears to be original to the gun. When we found this gun, it had been nicely converted to percussion by removing the touch-hole liner and screwing in a drum and nipple, work of the highest quality most likely accomplished by the maker. The absolutely flawless reconversion was done by master gunsmith, Stephen Alexander. Overall an exceptionally rare firearm in superb condition.
