Heidi teaches private harp lessons to students age eight through adults of any age on both lever and pedal harps

Heidi bases all her lessons in The Salzedo Method, developed by renowned harpist Carlos Salzedo.  Heidi incorporates the knowledge she has gained through twenty years of harp study under internationally acclaimed Salzedo harpists, including undergraduate and graduate degrees from two of the preeminent music institutions in the country.

Heidi strives to cultivate technical expertise, correct posture, self-discipline and sound practice habits in her students, always blending in a measure of love for individual musical expression and her passion for the harp.  A sound technical foundation enables the effective expression of the student’s own inner voice through music.  Heidi benefits from her personal experience to illustrate how proper technique can prevent injuries from playing the harp.  She focuses on the art of learning “how-to” practice, guiding her pupils through various techniques for effective practice habits.  Finally, Heidi is a natural-born teacher who consistently instills her passion for the harp, and the self-discipline required to excel, into her students’ every day lives.

Heidi is a classically trained harpist who focuses primarily on classical music, but also incorporates other music genres, such as Celtic, jazz, and contemporary music, into each student’s lesson.  One year of music study, or the ability to read music, is a prerequisite for beginning harp studies.  No prior music study is required for beginning adult students.  Please contact Heidi for information regarding obtaining a harp.

Heidi offers 30, 45, and 60 minute lessons.  Please contact Heidi for details about beginning harp lessons today!
