Westmore, England. Nice British 20-bore double-barreled flintlock sporting gun, ca. 1805.
Weight: 6 ¾ Lbs.  Stock Dimensions: 14 ¼” LOP.  Superb 32” Damascus barrels with brilliant bores and breeches and thick walls, retain most of an old rebrown finish. No dents or dings. Very plain, Provincial style engraving on iron mounts which have all been reblacked at some point. Locks have a couple of minor repairs but are tight, crisp, mechanically perfect, and show no wear and no corrosion in the pans. Both frizzens have been relined during the period of use. Stock has many minor handling marks from over 200 years of service/storage but lock mortises are crisp and clean as if the gun had been stocked yesterday. This fine gun exhibits very fast ignition and patterns beautifully Overall a beautiful example.
