Brander, London. Very rare pair of British brass-barreled, .60 caliber, holster pistols with silver mounts by John King hallmarked for 1776. Overall length about 14”. Beautifully tapered, three-stage, brass barrels are flared at the muzzle. Interesting and unusual brass lock plates marked with the Maker’s name and the maker’s mark also appears on the inside of the locks.  Slender, figured, walnut full stocks with shell pattern relief carving behing tangs. Very fine and elaborate silver mounts by John King including trigger guards, Pommels, intricately pierced side plates, and wrist escutcheons with the owners initials and crossed tomahawks which bears further research. Some minor old repairs to the stocks and locks. Ramrods are old replacements. Overall a superb and very rare pair of pistols.
