►3/16/09 Did ya get to hear Dan Maggipinto, of Caffe Nonna ... Here's that yummy dessert recipe he was talking about:
Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta
3c. Heavy Cream
1c. Whole Milk
1/2c. Granulated Sugar
1/2 Vanilla Bean (Cut down the center to split it open. Scrap from top to bottom with the back side of a knife. Add all to cream mixture)
2 1/2 tsp. Powdered Gelatin + 1/2 c. Water
1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. In a medium sauce pan on medium heat, bring the cream, milk, sugar and split vanilla bean to just before a boil. Small bubbles will start to form. DO NOT BOIL--mixture will separate. Make sure that the pod and the inner goodness is added to the cream mixture and whisked around to break up.
2. While this is heating up. Mix the gelatin in the water. Whisk to blend well.
3. Add the gelatin mixture to the cream mixture and whisk till blend well. Heat to just before a boil, lower the heat to simmer and simmer for approximately 3-5 minutes.\
4. Pull off of heat and add the vanilla extract. Whisk until blended. Take out pod and discard.
5. Pour mixture into individual serving cups and let chill for 4-6 hours, preferably overnight. Serve with whipped cream and your favorite berries on top.
Serves 6-8 people depending on the size of the serving cup.

• 1/4 cup fresh lime juice (2 to 3 limes)
• 2 tablespoon olive oil
• 1 clove minced garlic
• 1 tablespoon soy sauce
• 1 teaspoon ginger
• 1 teaspoon Dijon-style mustard
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
