French 21-bore double flintlock fowling piece, ca. 1800.  Weight 5 ½ lbs.  Stock dimensions:  13 ¾”x 1 ¼”x 2 ½”x st.  Beautiful long  35” barrels with no dents or dings are gold damascened at the breeches and retain some original finish. Locks are of the highest quality with fancy filed bridles and are mechanically perfect showing little use. Nicely figured walnut stock is relief carved and silver wire inlaid with some sections of the silver wire missing. The carving is very nicely done and shows no wear whatever. Plain forged iron mounts show no corrosion. Ramrod is original. Overall a very fine quality gun, mechanically perfect, and showing very little use.
