Word Wall Activites
- Please review the sight words nightly.
Students will learn over 220 sight during first grade. These are words that occur most often in texts that we read. Students are expected to be able to read and write these words correctly once they have been added to the Word Wall.
- Daily Practice
We will practice the entire Word Wall in different ways every single day as well as practice the weekly feature words.
- Word Families
Word Families are a great way to practice groups of words. By learning only several word families, we can learn and enormous number of new words.
For example, if your child knows the word can, he/she should also know the words tan, man, van, plan, etc.
