Tennessee native Nick Butcher's new work consists of constructed wood, prints and paint to form beautiful abstract collages. This new body of work is a departure from his figurative work, which he is known for in his printmaking. After receiving his BFA from Middle Tennessee State University, Butcher relocated to Chicago to join forces with some of the most renowned screen and letterpress print makers in the country - Jay Ryan, Mat Daly and Dan Grzeca. He runs his own printing company called Programmable Press and has released a CD and book called “Complicated Bicycle” featuring music and a 24-page multi-color hand-screened book.
