Our Mission: ThriftSmart exists to provide value to customers, opportunity for employees, and benefit to charities by operating the best thrift stores in the world and promoting thrifty living – all for God’s glory.
ThriftSmart is a chain of thrift stores in Middle Tennessee that provides:
ThriftSmart was founded on the principal that we all have talents we can use to benefit others – together we work hard to turn donated items into profits for the benefit of several local charities.
Each member of our team is committed to making a difference in our community and around the world!
ThriftSmart began as an idea for funding the day-to-day operations of several local ministries. Several of us serve on non-profit boards and work diligently to raise funds from local business leaders and philanthropists. In fact, we often approach the same folks about supporting our causes. But we knew we need to find another way to raise funds for our cause.
We felt we could accomplish more by working together and by making an investment of time and money into something bigger and more unique that would pay ongoing dividends in the long term. We decided to use our talents in business to help those less fortunate than ourselves by starting a company that is committed to giving all of its profits away.
Our plan is to contribute 100% of the profits from sales at ThriftSmart stores to create an endowment, or an ongoing revenue stream, to help fund the important work of our chosen local ministries. It is our belief that over time our contribution to these ministries will have an impact on our community long after we are gone.
We invite you to join us in this worthy cause – in whatever way is best for you – by either donating merchandise, or shopping at our store, or giving money directly to our supported charities.
