Then Mrs. Johnson asks her students to take pencils, paper and crayons and draw a picture about the story she had just read. Tommy has such a good picture of it all in his mind, but none of the tools with which to express himself. He doesn’t want to borrow them again – he always has to do that. But, that was in the past. Today, Tommy can have a happy ending too.

We're Moving Them to East Tennessee

Thanks to the exceeding generosity of Glendale members, and the contributions from Sanford Corporation, Office Depot in Knoxville, and Sam's/Wal*Mart, we have 300 backpacks for grades K-2 and 300 for grades 3-5.

We Went to the Mountains

On August 7, 2004 a caravan of 6 vehicles loaded with Glendalers and backpacks headed for the Appalachian Mountains and Jefferson City, Tennessee.
