HHH Executive Director Nancy Denning Martin Honored as One of the Top Women to Watch in Healthcare by Nashville Medical News

Nancy Denning Martin, executive director of the Hospital Hospitality House of Nashville, has been named one of the “Top Ten Women to Watch in Healthcare” for 2008 by the Nashville Medical News, a monthly publication written and edited specifically for healthcare professionals and the medical community. For the past three years, the Nashville Medical News has used the “Women’s Health Month” issue, published each May, to highlight and honor the amazing women in Middle Tennessee who are making a difference in their community. These women are changing outcomes for individuals, institutions and for the larger population through hands-on care, diligent research, efficient and compassionate administration, intuitive leadership and effective policymaking.

Hospital Hospitality House Expands Programming, Doubling the Size of Its Residential Program

After a successful experimental expansion of HHH residential programming conducted with a local extended stay facility, Hospital Hospitality House has entered into a year-long relationship with the hotel. This expansion plan has doubled HHH’s capacity, allowing us to serve twenty families per night.

On Thursday, October 18th, the Nashville community came together in support of Hospital Hospitality House for a Patrons’ Luncheon that raised over $425,000 in support of the agency’s mission to be a home away from home for patients and caregivers seeking treatment in Nashville hospitals. Chaired by Jan and Harry Jacobson and Sharalena and Dick Miller, this year’s event featured a special appearance by Steve Bridges as “The President of the United States.”

Hospital Hospitality House Receives Overwhelming Support with $300,000 Secured at First Annual Patrons' Luncheon

On the afternoon of October 25, 2006 the Nashville community came together in support of Hospital Hospitality House at a festive luncheon raising over $300,000 in support of the agency’s mission to offer affordable lodging to patients and families receiving medical treatment at Nashville hospitals. Chaired by Jan and Harry Jacobson and sponsored by Vanderbilt University Medical Center, this was the first event of its kind planned for the benefit of the non-profit facility. Physician, clown and nationally-known activist Patch Adams was the keynote speaker at the event held at the Renaissance Nashville Hotel.
