OUTREACH PROPOSALS FOR BUDGET YEAR 2010

The Board of Outreach encourages any and all proposals for our 2010 budget planning in August and September. Forms are attached to the Outreach bulletin board near the kitchen, or by clicking here to download.  Please submit all proposals AND renewals with complete information. The deadline for submission is July 25th so all members of the board will be able to review them. Thank you. - Judy Sordean, Outreach Chair

SUMMER SUPPER ON WEDNESDAY AUGUST 5!   printer  

Please join us for food, fun and fellowship on August 5 for tacos, salad and dessert, 5:45 pm in the Fellowship Hall.

Cost is $5.00 per person, $3.00 per child 12 and under.  Sign-up sheets will be in the narthex the week ahead of each supper, or you can call the office to let us know you're coming.  Pay at the door.  See you then!

BINKLEY ANNUAL FALL ART EXHIBIT   printer  

FALL ART EXHIBIT 2009! The fall exhibit for members and friends of Binkley is only a few months away, starting on September 12.  We can take work that is ready to hang on the walls of the Fellowship Hall (framed, with eye hooks). We can also display small movable items such as jewelry, pottery, and origami. The Fine Arts Committee will receive your work in the Fellowship Hall on Saturday morning, September 12. Put the date on your calendar, and get your artwork ready to hang or display. For details and to indicate your participation, you can click here to download a sign-up form,  pick one up from one of the credenzas in the narthex to fill out and mail in, or click here to complete an online sign-up form

A MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR ANN TURNER   printer  

A memorial service for Ann Turner is scheduled for Tuesday, July 7, at 2pm in the Binkley Sanctuary.  A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall

BILL MOYERS INTERVIEWS GARY DORRIEN JULY 3   printer  

Gary Dorrien, who spoke at the recent Seymour Symposium and delivered the next day’s Sunday sermon here at Binkley, will be interviewed by Bill Moyers on PBS this coming Friday evening July 3 at 11:00 pm on BILL MOYERS JOURNAL. Here’s the show description: “PBS’ Bill Moyers sits down with renowned scholars Cornel West, Serene Jones, and Gary Dorrien for a fresh take on what our core ethics and values as a society say about America's politics, policy, and the challenges of balancing capitalism and democracy.”

NETWORKING AND SUPPORT GROUP FOR JOB SEEKERS   printer  

In this time of massive job losses, Binkley has begun a weekly group that meets to energize, create ideas, and develop networking for Binkley members and others who are seeking jobs. The group meets on Wednesdays from 9:30-11 in the church library. Open to all members of the community.  Cynthia Greene is organizing the group.
