Once started, complete this online application in a single session. There is no ability to resume a previously started application.

If you are a high school senior, college freshman, college sophomore, or college junior seeking a bachelor's degree, complete this application.

Communication from KGEF will be via email.  
If you have a change in your email address notify the KGEF office by email, swallace@kgcsa.com. However, your permanent (parental or guardian) postal mailing adress is also required when scholarship funds are disbursed.

  1. Scholarships are awarded only to children or grandchildren of full-time employees of member companies of the Kentucky Grocers and Convenience Store Association (KGCSA), or student employees of KGCSA member companies. Please confirm with the company, before starting this application, that they are a member in good standing of the Kentucky Grocers and Convenience Store Association (KGCSA). The employees must have been employed for at least one year as of January 1 of the year in which the scholarship is awarded.
  2. Complete the online application below.
  3. OFFICIAL high school transcript (including ACT/SAT scores) from your guidance office required. High school information is required for all applicants regardless of the applicant's year in college. NOTE: A grade report printed from the Internet is NOT an official transcript.
  4. College Transcript(s): request an official transcript from the college you are attending and any colleges you have attended in the past.  NOTE: A grade report printed from the internet is NOT an official transcript.
  5. Applicant must attend college as full-time students in the fall and spring semesters for the scholarship year. Failure to enroll in the required semester results in forfeiture of any remaining scholarship funds.
  6. Applicant is responsible for making sure all required documents reach KGEF.  Incomplete applications will not be considered.
  7. All required documents must be postmarked no later than May 1, 2018.
All documents mailed or emailed to the KGEF office MUST contain the student's name and last four digits of their social security number on each page.

"Piggyback" Scholarships:
Students may be eligible to apply for a "Piggyback" scholarship sponsored by the company. Check with your KGCSA member company to determine if they are participating in the "Piggyback" program. Students not receiving a "Piggyback" scholarship remain eligible for a scholarship funded directly by the KGEF.

Participating "Piggyback" companies are as follows:
Cox Food Group:  four scholarships @ $1,000 each.
Double Kwik / Childers Oil:  one scholarship @ $1,000 each.
Food City:  two scholarships @ $1,000 each.
Houchens Industries:  five scholarships @ $1,000 each.
SuperQuik:  four scholarships @ $1,000 each.
ValuMarket:  two scholarships @ $1,000 each.

What Scholarship Should I Apply For? 

You MUST choose to apply for either a KGEF funded scholarship OR a "Piggyback" scholarship funded by a sponsoring company.

Only children or grandchildren of full-time employees, or student employees of respective "Piggyback" sponsors are eligible for the "Piggyback" scholarships.

"Piggyback" applicants who do NOT receive a "Piggyback" scholarship REMAIN eligible for a KGEF funded scholarship. No recipient will receive more than one scholarship from either the KGEF or "Piggyback" scholarships.
