Despite a sloppy track at Oaklawn Park Sunday morning, Wayne Lukas sent Strong Mandate out for a four-furlong breeze, and the colt didn't disappoint, turning in a bullet move.
Strong Mandate was clocked going four furlongs in :48:60 (1/52).
Strong Mandate, last seen running third from the outside post 14 in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile, is preparing to start his year in the Southwest Stakes.
“His work was just awesome,” said Lukas. “I was really impressed. It had to be the bullet.”
