It's interesting to note that has Baffert's DEN'S LEGACY at number 20 on its Kentucky Derby points list, while Churchill Downs does not list Den's Legacy, who finished sixth in last Saturday's Arkansas Derby and was shipped back to California instead of Kentucky as originally planned. Inclusion of Den's Legacy pushes Todd Pletcher's CHARMING KITTEN back to number 21 and Baffert's CODE WEST to number 22. Baffert is expected to make a decision about his horses, including number 18 SUPER NINETY NINE, next week.

Baffert told Wednesday night that he is going to ship CODE WEST to Churchill Downs. Baffert said Code West recently breezed three furlongs at Santa Anita, but that clockers missed him. Baffert said he's thinking about pointing Code West to the Grade II Peter Pan on May 11.

This morning at Churchill Downs, Dallas Stewart's GOLDEN SOUL breezed six furlongs in 1:12.40 from the 5/8 pole to the 7/8 pole. His splits were :12.00, :23.40, :35.00, :46.80 and :59.00. He was out seven furlongs in 1:27.40. Golden Soul needs some defections to get in the Derby. How many depends on the list you view.

Trainer Doug O’Neill said GOLDENCENTS' workout on Wednesday was six furlongs in 1:14.40, not four furlongs in :48.40 (6/24) as reported by official clockers. O’Neill told he thought that Goldencents was able to relax “big time. I saw a relaxed, mature horse that finished up great." O'Neill said he timed Goldencents in :37.20 for the first three furlongs. Goldencents will work again April 25 before being shipped to Churchill Downs on April 27.

Here's what Baffert told Wednesday about GOVENOR CHARLIE going Wednesday to a Kentucky veterinary clinic: "We had a hind foot issue a couple days ago, so I want to make sure we didn't miss anything."

Here's what Baffert told Wednesday evening about the "Govenor's" visit to the vet: "His foot was bugging him a couple of days ago, so we thought we better check it out and sent him to Dr. Bramlage at Rood & Riddle for a bone scan, which came up negative. He was just off one morning; it may have been just a slight bruise. We'll get him to Churchill Downs and play it by ear, and just see how he's doing." Baffert also said Govenor Charlie would be shipped back to Louisville from Lexington today and go back to the track on Friday.

Ken McPeek told this about JAVA'S WAR on Wednesday: "We wanted to leave him at Keeneland for a few days and let him recover and he's fine. He'll do some gallops over the next 10 days." Java's War will be vanned to Churchill Downs today.

Shug McGaughey tweeted about ORB on Wednesday: "Very pleased with progress Orb is making. We are looking forward to the next two weeks." It was the trainer's first tweet since Feb. 23.
